I definitely agree that the counter culttural model is dangerous.  Offending for the right reasons seems to have a lot to do with justice and personal integrity.  I do have to ask though where the balance comes into play and if, say, a model that supports listening to secular music with less-than-wholesome lyrics plays is violently opposed to the counter cultural model.  Can there be a combination?
